The gardens at Whitehall Mansion are one of the loveliest wedding venues in Louisville and I’m so honored to have captured Jared & Caroline’s wedding day there last June. Happy anniversary, you two! From the moment I talked with Caroline, her personality shined right through the phone. She is so kind, vibrant, and makes you […]
Neil & Kaylee: A Richwood on the River outdoor wedding Louisville KY None of us knew what 2020 would bring. For Neil & Kaylee, they got engaged and planned for a beautiful 2020 May wedding. Unfortunately, circumstances forced them to postpone to June, but oh my what the perfect day it was. A Richwood on the […]
Hello blogging world! I am back! I’ve taken a few years off to have babies (yes, multiple babies if you didn’t know!), but that’s a whole other blog post. This post is all about Tanner & Celeste and their incredible colorful Churchill Downs wedding day. I see so much of myself and my husband Matt […]
The Gardencourt was the perfect spot for their #Brunetsoi·rée with its incredible architecture, lovely gardens, and old world charm. The history geek in me loves all the historical/vintage venues. Kathryn’s dress literally made me giddy and the fact that she was ecstatic to just twirl and enjoy her dress makes her my kind of gal! Peter gave his groomsmen custom engraved pocket watches, which is one of the neatest groomsmen gifts I’ve seen. The flowers were perfect, the food was tasty, the weather was awesome, and the dancing was on point!
Jon & Amanda have an enchantingly kind quality about them that just poured over into every aspect of their wedding day: the stunning old mansion, lovely flowers, family-filled wedding party, personal touches, and sweet, sweet interactions. It was just a wonderful day that I know I won’t forget anytime soon!
This session may win all of the sessions I’ve ever had for most fun. I’ve known Rachel for over 10 years, what?!? Crazy. We met very early on at Virginia Tech in the Marching Virginians. Go Hokies!! She’s one of my people and I love her dearly. When she told me about Truman and that […]
Falls of the Ohio Engagement Session Weddings definitely steal a lot of the show in the photography world, but sometimes engagement sessions do too and that’s this one. First, Josh, Jessica, and their two kids drove 2 hours bright and early to meet me for a morning session. How amazing are they?! But it was […]
I know I’m not alone when I say I’ve been loving these occasional warm spring/summer-like days! Thankfully, Mike & Brittany had a flexible schedule and we were able to pick the warmest, prettiest day last week for their Buffalo Trace Distillery engagements! The sun was out, the skies were blue, and it was well into […]
I know the months of November-March aren’t the most ideal for photos. The grass turns brown, the trees are bare, and of course, it’s generally COLD. But there is just something so lovely about wintertime, even without snow. The light is softer and more flattering because the sun doesn’t get quite as high in the […]
Cherokee Park and Door to Nowhere Engagement: Most of us across the country are definitely feeling winter! It’s been cold EVERYWHERE. My scarves, thick socks, and winter coat have been getting a lot of use! On New Year’s Eve, I had the pleasure of meeting up with Peter and Kathryn to do their engagement photos […]
Henry Clay Estate (Ashland) Lexington KY Engagement Autumn seemed to last so long this year and I am always on board for that. The leaves were brilliant yellows, oranges, and reds for a good portion of October and November, which made for many bright, color engagement sessions! I am so excited to share Sam & Jessica’s […]
Jake & Emma: Fall Mount St. Francis Engagement I met Jake & Emma earlier this year and got to hear the story of how they met. Jake was out with his work friends for a work Christmas party. Emma was out with her friends for an enjoyable night. Jake is a tall man, so Emma […]
Earlier this year, I was able to explore a small part of Louisville with a friend from church as we visited Big Rock Park as part of the larger Seneca Park. I loved my time there taking in the natural beauty of Beargrass Creek and I thought to myself, I would love to photograph a […]
Each couple that I’m meeting in Louisville makes me enjoy this city more and more! This year I’ve photographed couples at an antique store, in a cow pasture, playing ukuleles, and exploring a distillery. This session adds two more fun locations to my list: a book store and ice cream shop! Andrew & Kate met […]
One of the unique qualities of Louisville is that it’s right on the border of Indiana. And it’s not just any state border, Southern Indiana is beautiful. For what this part of Kentucky lacks in hills and mountains, Southern Indiana makes up for it! As soon as you cross the Ohio River, there are rolling […]
Nestled in the outskirts of Bardstown, KY, surrounded by rolling hills is the Willett Distillery. It’s a quaint bourbon distillery with decades of history. I had no idea the legacy and tradition of Kentucky bourbon before I became a resident. But, the Willett family and family friends Paul & Ali enjoy and appreciate good bourbon. […]
Moving to Louisville has had its challenges, but it’s also been incredibly rewarding. And one of the rewards is getting to meet new people. Going to college was kind of like this, opening up a whole new world of people with different worldviews. And again, I get to experience that by moving to a new […]
