Weddings sometimes take me to new, fun places. This rainy fall wedding was an especially fun one taking me all the way from Louisville KY to Atlanta GA! Previously, I wrote about my relationship with Rachel in the post about their engagement session. I adore her and I adore Truman and so I adored this day! I was nervous about the weather, but in true wedding day fashion, everything worked out wonderfully.
Truman and Rachel planned such a fun day for their family and friends. These two are people people. They have their community and they love them hard. They really wanted the day to be a blast for their guests providing a comfortable setting, fun games, amazing food, and bumpin’ music. It was an awesome party!
I had 2 favorite parts of the day. The first was the personal vows Truman and Rachel wrote to each other. These two are so well suited for each other. As Rachel said in her vows, Truman and family and friends quickly recognized and loved her Rachel McGiboney flare. Truman is a true gentleman respecting and encouraging Rachel in her endeavors and being a rock for her. I mean, it was all just so sweet and wonderful. A few happy tears were shed.
My second favorite part was when Rachel and her dad made their first dance their own by not dancing! They chose to surprise guests with a duet! I wrote in their engagement session post that Rachel and I met in the Marching Virginians. We were both clarinet players! Now since that time nearly 15 years ago, I’ve hung my clarinet playing up. But Rachel has not! And she is GOOD. Her dad played the keyboard and the two of them together gave such a lovely performance. They had the whole room cheering and standing. It was a lot of fun and the perfect way to make that portion of their wedding a perfect reflection of them.
I could go on and on about how much I love these two and their fun and sweet wedding day, but here are the pictures which tell a wonderful story. Rachel has THE best expressions and Truman completely knows how to work a camera being the thespian that he is! Thank you Truman and Rachel for letting this Louisville KY wedding photographer travel all the way to Atlanta for your lovely fall wedding rainy weather and all! <3
