April is quickly becoming one of my favorite months for weddings. It’s not too hot, not too cold, flowers are blooming, and spring is in the air! So if you can avoid the infamous April showers, you are looking at beautiful day for a wedding. That’s exactly what happened for Mark & Johanna’s backyard rural Indiana wedding!
A few months ago when Johanna and I chatted about their wedding, she told me they were fervently praying for no rain. She and Mark had this incredible vision of getting married at his hometown church and then having the wedding reception in Mark’s parent’s rural Indiana backyard. From the moment they got engaged, everything just seemed to fall into place and the weather was the last item to check off the list! And sure enough, there was no rain and barely a cloud in the sky. Mark’s family had worked for MONTHS prepping the backyard for their wedding day and everything looked amazing. They “left no stone unturned” as they say, haha. The barn was beautiful with a brand new concrete floor. The yard boasted lots of picnic tables, antique chairs, twinkle lights, tons and tons of decor, and their own Lil’ Sebastian (aka Baby the mini horse). It looked stunning!
All throughout the day, you could tell this was a two family affair. Everyone helped and it really was a celebration of two families becoming one. All the compliments, hard work, and appreciate was evident in every speech, dance, conversation… it was a complete joy to witness.
Mark & Johanna, thank you SO much for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. It was so, so special and a wedding I surely won’t be forgetting anytime soon. <3 This might just be the longest blog post of the year just because I could not narrow down all these precious moments!
