Christian & Kim: Virginia Transportation Museum Wedding Roanoke Virginia

Some of my fondest memories of high school are from Governor’s School. For me, I loved meeting peers who also desired to over-achieve academically and had similar interests. I loved my time there and the friends I made. One of those friends was Christian. We took science and research classes together. We even went on the same school trip to Europe! One of my favorite stories of Christian is in Switzerland when we were riding a gondola up the Alps. He joined me and two of my girl friends in our gondola car and the whole way up we debated about ferns! Yes, we were that cool…

ANYWAY, all that is said just to say that Christian and I go way back. We both even went to Virginia Tech. I remember some of the talks Christian and I had those first years at Tech about meeting our future spouses. I knew that God had someone special for Christian, I just didn’t know how awesome she’d end up being.

Enter, Kim! Kim is one of the most talented, beautiful, creative women I know. She can sing, draw, design, cook, you name it, she can probably do it! She’s just that awesome. Pair her with Christian and you have the perfect pair! I loved watching Christian and Kim interact. It was an absolute joy to witness their union as husband and wife!

Their wedding was such a beautiful reflection of their personalities. So many of the details were either handmade or specially curated for them. The bridesmaids skirts and Kim’s veil were specially made by Kim’s mom. Christian himself made their wedding bands (how cool!)! Kim created the water colored design on their invitation. The ceremony was the same location Kim’s aunt was married 30 years before. Their reception was at a transportation museum which fits perfectly into Christian’s interest in engineering and science. They served freshly made brick-oven pizzas for dinner. Christian’s grandmother made over a dozen cakes for each table to serve family style. I mean, the list could go on and on!

I’m so excited for Christian and Kim to start this new chapter of their relationship and I wish you both many many years of martial bliss!

Enjoy lots of my favorites from their peach and mint wedding day!

A huge thank you to the vendors who made this day lovely! And to Hillary Gaskins for being my second shooter!!
