After having kids, so much of my business changed and blogging was an unfortunate casualty. I’m now finally getting back into it and I’m sharing some of my older weddings. These days were just as beautiful as others. My sweet, adorable *cough cough* needy children though have tied up a little time. But not right now! (She says as the kids start to wake up from naps… mom life!) The wedding I’m sharing today at The Olmsted in Louisville KY was exactly when Valerie turned 1 month! I have vivid memories of pumping in the car… in a dress! Mistakes were made! Haha. But it was such a fun day and was SO good for me mentally taking a break from baby. So here’s some details about this sweet day!
Jake and Emma got ready at the Embassy Suites in downtown Louisville. This was three and a half years ago, but I still totally remember stepping into their rooms this day. Everyone was so excited! Like literally everyone there was so looking forward to this day. It all just felt right. I loved Emma’s relationship with her parents. They were SO fun! And I loved watching Jake with his family and friends too. This was a for sure family affair!
The Olmsted is this lovely venue off of Frankfurt Ave in Crescent Hill. It has such a classic and elegant style. A perfect venue for Jake and Emma. It was October, but it wasn’t too cold yet! The ladies had lovely shawls adding pops of deep red to their beautiful blue bridesmaids dresses. The gentleman looked fantastic in navy suits. It was after this wedding I realized that 95% of my 2018 couples had blue suits. What a fun trend for me. Their ceremony was so sweet peppered with meaningful family and friend participation.
And finally, the reception! It was a great party. I loved the introduction from Emma’s parents. Again, they are so cool and hilarious. You can just see how close of a family they all are and how Jake was already a member of the family too. There were lots of kids at this reception and kids made receptions infinitely more fun. I love the photo of all the kids lined up on the edge of the dancefloor sitting and watching Jake and Emma’s first dance. Lastly, but not the least, THE DOUGHNUT TRUCK. Guys. I was 1 month postpartum and nursing and ravenous. And these doughnuts were AMAZING. Sooooo good and I’m not a doughnut person!
Jake and Emma, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your wedding day. I still have fond memories, even 3 and a half years later. Enjoy some of my favorites. <3
