I have a whole new respect for military families and those who move on a regular or semi-regular basis. Whew, it’s exhausting!

I grew up living in the same home my whole life. My only moving was to college and then in with Matt. Neither of those were that crazy because as a college student or young newly wed, we didn’t own anything! So, I’ve never actually moved a whole house.

But oh man, now we have and it’s chaos.

We packed all of our things into a U-Haul last Monday with the help of Matt’s parents and brother-in-law. Then we made the 9+ hour drive to Kentucky with some bumps along the way… like getting a flat on 81. But we eventually made it to Louisville and unloaded the truck into our new apartment.

That was all last Wednesday and Thursday. We are still unpacking boxes and getting settled. I don’t know if I actually believe that there’s an end in sight… haha. But slow progress is being made! There are also a few quirks with the apartment too that are being fixed. The worst being the hot water… it’s orange. So… that’s been interesting! But we should be getting a new hot water heater today, yay!

We are still learning our way around the area. The traffic is a little nuts and different, but it’s been really fun having so many different options just 10 minutes away! I’m looking forward to meeting people and getting plugged in to a community here.

I want to say a huge thank you to Matt’s parents for taking days out of their schedule to pack the truck, drive with us out here, unpack the truck, and help us get settled a bit. I don’t know if we could have done it without their help!
