Travel: Charleston WV 5 Year Anniversary

2017 has been a great year all around, but it’s a little extra special because Matt and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary! It’s hard to believe we’ve been married for 5 years, but then also not that hard to believe.

It probably comes as no surprise for a wedding photographer to love weddings, but I love marriage more. Being married to Matt has been absolutely incredible and I wouldn’t want life any other way! Matt is my best friend and we have so much fun together. I sometimes wonder if we are actually adults and are adulting correctly because we just enjoy each other so much. Since we both work from home, we see each other a lot and I never really tire of him (I’m speaking for myself Matt may have a different opinion, haha). So yes, 5 years has been great and I am excited for many, many more 5s. 🙂

To celebrate, we visited Charleston, WV. During our many travels in the last year from Louisville to Virginia, we’ve driven through Charleston on 64 many, many times. And each time we drive through the city, I love admiring all the mountains, river, and buildings climbing up the hills highlighting the valley. I’ve always wanted to stop and spend some time there, so we did!

We stayed at a little B&B, the Brass Pineapple Inn, in the historic district of Charleston just a few blocks away from the capital! It was lovely and so was Lisa the owner and breakfast chef. We spent our mornings sleeping in and then walking around town taking in local food, shops, and arts. Charleston is home of a year-round everyday farmers market! It was really cool and I’m only slightly jealous. Haha.

Here are a few pictures of our time in Charleston. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed a relaxing evening exploring. I have got to get better about taking pictures of food. I only remember after it’s gone! Ah! Haha.
