Brady & Emily: Modern Nature Center Wedding

When I think back to college, I think of the campus, the football, maybeee classes, but mostly friends. And one of those friends is Brady. I’ve known Brady since 2008 (crazy!) when we were freshman at Tech and have always enjoyed his personality and sarcasm. In those early years of college, he understood my sarcasm in a way that most others just didn’t and still does, haha! Brady also enjoys photography and was one of the first people to really encourage me to pursue photography as a career. He even let me borrow his DSLR for an engagement party I was photographing when I was still researching which camera to start with (yay, Nikon!). Junior year, Matt and Brady were roommates, so we spent a lot of time together. So much so that I was deemed the guys 5th roommate spending more awake time in their apartment than most of them. All the times cooking together, watching movies, smash sessions, and hanging out. What fond memories!

Matt and Brady also lead a small group together. Matt came to the Lord in college and Brady was such an encourager during that time for him. Watching them have deep conversations and talk regularly about theology made me so happy. I loved that Matt had that relationship with Brady and I truly believe that helped spark his love for learning and his desire for seminary.

Brady graduated Tech in 2012 and then moved to Dallas to attend seminary. Matt and I have so much admired his obedience and sacrifice to give up a very promising future in the HNFE field to go to seminary and pursue pastoral-ship. One of the first conversations we had after Brady had moved and Matt and I had gotten married was when Brady told us he sold his camera to pay for school. I was floored. I know how much that camera meant to him and to hear of his dedication to finance his way through school by selling his camera (let alone working multiple jobs) really shows his heart toward the Lord.

So when Brady told us about Emily and proposing, we were so excited! And even more, when they asked me to photograph their wedding. Photographing friends weddings is a gift for me because I get to spend so much time with the bride and groom. Brady and Emily are a beautiful pair. Hearing their families talking about them together, their relationships with the Lord, and desire to have Him reflected in their marriage were just what we had prayed and desired for our dear friend Brady! Plus, more shallowly, their day was styled beautifully. The Trinity River Audubon Center was a stunning venue! The architecture of the building and natural surroundings made it the perfect mix of modern and nature. Everything Emily curated from the flowers to the signs to her ah-ma-zing dress was gorgeous! It was such an incredible day.

Brady & Emily, I cannot thank you enough for letting me be a part of your day and the new friendship we have now as two married couples! Yay!
