I left before dark and started my trip to Peaks of Otter. I saw the sun rise and poke through the overcast sky in places as I drove. It gave me a bit of hope: maybe the sun will shine today. But as I ascended in elevation up the mountain, the clouds seemed to multiply and thicken. A dense fog fell upon the road and all hope of seeing the sun was gone.

I walked into Callie’s bridal suite and she and her gals were in high spirits! The overcast skies and fog weren’t bringing down their mood. Callie was marrying her best friend and her girls were there to stand by her side and that was all they were thinking about. Chatting, eating, listening to some music. They had a lovely morning!

The guys similarly didn’t let the weather phase them. They were joking around and enjoying hanging out in the Peaks of Otter Lodge. Everyone was at ease but full of excitement which made my job extra easy.

Colby and Callie shared a first look and it was incredibly sweet. Not only are they so gentle, kind, and romantic together, but the fog, or abyss as we loving referred to it, was the perfect setting for their first look. It just enhanced the romanticism ten fold. And of course, their portraits were stunning. Callie has a killer smile and model face. I could photograph her all day! Colby too has an awesome smile and what I refer to as the “guy smirk”. Put these two together and you are just in photographer heaven! Gah! Sooo beautiful!

I loved seeing Colby & Callie’s families encourage and celebrate with them as they became husband and wife. It always fills my heart with gladness when I see families so excited for their beloved children to unite together in marriage.

Colby & Callie, thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to capture these precious moments from your wedding day! It was a joy to be a part of it and I wish you both many, many years of martial bliss!
