June in Virginia is hit or miss with the weather. Sometimes it’s sunny. Sometimes it’s rainy. Sometimes it’s a mild 70 degrees. Sometimes it’s 90. And well, the day of Justin & Jessica’s wedding, it was in the 90s! It was a beautiful day. No rain in sight (yay!)! But there also weren’t many clouds. Just a whole lot of sun and heat.
But despite the heat, everyone was super excited to be a part of the marriage of these two sweet, kind people. Anyone who watches Justin & Jessica together for more than 5 minutes can see just how well they fit together. Their first look is one of the absolute sweetest! Justin lit up when he saw Jessica and even had to wipe away a few tears because he was just so happy. I loved seeing that!
Their theme was to the moon and back, which is how they signed their letters while Justin was away at boot camp. How absolutely precious is that?! I loved how unique it was and how they incorporated it into so many different parts of their day! I especially loved the wedding favor: moon pies! The bride’s mom may or may not have been generous enough to allow me to take a handful at the end of the night… I promise I don’t have a problem. 😀
Since it was such a beautiful day with minimal clouds, we had a KILLER sunset and captured Wisteria Ridge in all it’s beauty with the gorgeous mountain backdrop, sparkling pond, and setting sun. These sunset portraits are definitely some of my new favorites! Jessica also drove a ’66 red Mustang in high school, and used it as their get-away car so we had to do portraits with it as well!
Overall, it was a sweet, beautiful, fun day that I am honored to have been a part of! Justin and Jessica, I wish you all the best as you begin this new season of your life and thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be your wedding photographer!
