My absolute favorite time of day to shoot is just after sunrise. The light is soft with a little pink-y tint. It’s just so beautiful. It makes me sad that I usually miss this time of day, but when I do get the opportunity to not only see that beautiful pink light but to shoot in it, I jump at the chance!
So when Jordan suggested doing a sunrise session in DC during the cherry blossom festival, I was totally excited! I had actually never been to DC in the spring, so it was a whole new experience for me. I loved it! The cherry blossoms are beautiful, though I don’t know you could convince me to wake up at 4:30am just for the blossoms! Haha. But to photograph an incredibly adorable and in love couple in that beautiful light? You bet I’ll be there!
It was a gorgeous morning! And surprisingly the crowds weren’t too bad! There definitely were a lot of people out for 6:00 in the morning… but it wasn’t too bad! We were able to grab some great shots of the cherry blossoms, Tidal Basin, and Jefferson Memorial!
Enjoy lots of my favorites! Someone commented this on Facebook and I totally agree, doesn’t Jordan look like a modern day Cinderella in that blue dress?! So beautiful!
Drew & Jordan, thank you so much for meeting me so early and taking over 10,000 steps with me throughout DC dodging tourists and a marathon! Haha. I can’t wait for you fall wedding!
