It’s no secret over here on my blog that I’m a Christian. Matt and I are heavily involved with our church and attend a young married small group every week. We’ve been blessed with a wonderful community of friends of all ages here in Hampton Roads and we couldn’t be more thankful for each one of them!
When Matt and I were engaged and planning the beginning of our marriage in Hampton Roads, we were introduced to a lot of awesome couples all around our age. One of those couples was Josh and Ann. They also lived in Carrollton and were so kind in showing us around and taking us to the local Mexican restaurant. From those very early moments, we knew we’d be friends.
Since moving out here, Matt and I have loved spending time with Josh and Ann. We’d carpool to small group each week and were lovingly known as the Carrollton Crew. Matt and Josh would hit up the local disc golf course on weekends when Ann and I would be working. Josh and Ann even had a key to our house! They’ve been such great friends and we’ve loved having them around.
Josh and Ann have hearts for service. They love to help others and to serve the Lord by doing so. Around a year ago, the Lord laid it on their hearts for them to start a nonprofit ministry through Treehouse, an organization Josh was involved with in college. After much praying and guidance from the Lord and loved ones, they decided that to pursue this calling, they needed to move to Philadelphia.
And so for the past few months they’ve been slowly packing and preparing for their move. Starting a nonprofit is a large undertaking and they’ve had to spend a lot of their own time and resources preparing for their move and start-up. I had previously captured some family pictures for Josh and Ann (and their adorable pup Rosie), so Ann asked if I could do some more family photos to announce their trip to Philly and to use the images in all of the start-up Philly Treehouse materials.
It was an honor to be a part of helping these two start this ministry! We are going to miss them so much, but we know that they are being faithful and trusting in the Lord and His timing.
I wanted to share a few of those images from our time together. Josh and Ann are so photogenic and Rosie is just adorable!
Good luck in Philly, friends! You’ve got a whole lot of prayers and love coming from VA.
