About the Lifestyle Blog

My day job is a wedding photographer, but my life consists of so much more than weddings. Here on my lifestyle blog, you’ll learn a lot more about me personally away from the camera. I love Jesus, being a wife, crafting, cooking, growing things, and so much more. I’ll document my heart here and I’m glad you’re along for the ride.

August 8-11 Weekend Recap + John & Michele Engagement Sneak Peek

Whew, these past few weeks have been crazy and for various reasons that I’ll talk about today! Here’s the weekend recap of August 8-11!

1. If you follow me on

, you know that one of my closest and dearest friends is getting married at the end of the month!! This was decided LAST WEEK due to job relocating, so I have been running around like a mad woman planning her bridal shower and helping her with wedding related things! I am SO excited! This past week, I’ve been doing lots of thrifting and crafting. Poor Matt is dealing with our living room floor being craft central. After her shower in a few weeks, I am very excited to share some of these crafts with you!

2. On Saturday, we helped some friends from church move into their new home! We had a lot of fun moving and chatting with them and other church members as we worked. Who knew that carrying heavy items and packing boxes could be so enjoyable with friends?

It was Saturday that I realized how thankful I was that we still had Matt’s parent’s Tahoe. We were able to help move more stuff and save other people a few trips because we had a large vehicle. I’ve been getting a little frustrated with our car search and all the waiting, but this weekend was a reminder that God has it all under control.

3. On Sunday, we had a carry-in meal for church. I just love being able to fellowship with our friends at church. And that love for fellowship just increases when there is food involved! I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful church community!

4. I had a few overly ripe bananas laying on the counter and some almost too ripe blueberries in the fridge, so I decided to try my hand at making banana blueberry bread. Despite Matt’s skepticism of combining bananas and blueberries in bread form, it was a big hit all around. I don’t know what it is about pastries/baked goods with tea, but it’s simply divine and one of my favorite combos. I may be enjoying some as I type this… yum.

Now, I couldn’t conclude our weekend recap without giving a little sneak peek of John & Michele’s engagement session!

is such a natural in front of the camera and to see how happy she is when she and John are together warms my heart. I’m so glad she’s getting to marry her best friend (well her

best friend 😉 ) ! I can’t wait to share more of this session with you later in the week. It may just be a new favorite!!
