Throughout my life, I’ve had the pleasure of always having a close-knit church family. I had one in Collinsville for the first 22 years of my life and now have been blessed with one in Carrollton! The cool thing about having such good friends in church is being able to watch people grow up and to keep in touch for years later.
I’ve been able to watch these three friends grow up (as I was growing up too!) and have been able to photograph them many times! I photographed their cousins wedding and captured Jordan and Abbie’s senior portraits. You many recognize Abbie from the scrolling picture banner at the top of my blog. She’s just absolutely beautiful!
Abbie messaged me last fall saying that she had the perfect idea for a Christmas present for her mom. She wanted to schedule a family photo session to include her parents. I’ve taken lots of portraits of Jordan, Abbie, and Ethan, but their parents were never included! So after much planning and sneaking around, we decided that the best way to deliver the present would be to do a mini-session with just the siblings, make a card with the photos and text saying her gift is a family portrait session, and then hand that to their mom on Christmas day.
It was SO hard keeping quiet about these photos. We only shot for about 20 minutes, but we got some great shots that I know their mom will love!
Even though I don’t get to see them as often anymore, this family is so special to me. Enjoy lots of my favorites from this mini-session!
I made the mistake of telling two brothers to “hug attack” their sister. Haha.
They all have such great laughs! Another favorite!
Just for fun, I told them to “get excited like you’re saying ‘Merry Christmas Mom!'” You can tell who the jokesters in the family are. Haha.
I hope you enjoyed this belated Christmas post! Can you believe tomorrow will be 2014? Crazy! On the bright side though, you’ll get to see more [and all] of this fun and sweet family in the new year!
Happy New Year!
