From the moment I met Elliott & Stephanie, I knew their wedding was going to be one to remember! I had so much fun exploring and adventuring through Big Rock Park for their engagements and their wedding was exactly the same!
Bowling Green, KY was a nice middle ground for their family and friends at the absolutely and uniquely incredible Lost River Cave. This venue will blow your mind! The park is the site of Kentucky’s only underground river and right at the entrance of the river is a cavern that has been converted into a reception hall! The walls are rock, the floor is rock, drips of water come from the ceiling (stalagmite and stalactite elementary school science anyone?) there’s a raging river that you cross over to get to the pavilion area. I cannot express enough about how dang cool it was.
Other than just the sheer cool factor, Stephanie’s elegant and sophisticated style, fun maids and gents, and the sweet interactions of the bride and groom made this made unforgettable. I loved Stephanie’s details with her blush Mrs. Box, watercolored invitations, lovely florals, and amazing sandals. The pictures don’t show it, but panic set in for Amanda and I as we quickly photographed everything outside in a crazy windstorm! I wish there was a video of those moments because it was hilarious! But you’d never know from how beautiful the images are.
Elliott & Stephanie shared a first look and had a gorgeous ceremony by the river. Fog would creep up occasionally making the whole scene look crazy romantic. And despite that one crazy wind/rain storm, the weather was perfect and all the lush, green trees provided plenty of shade to cool off until the reception.
And even though I’ve gushed so much about the design and location of this wedding, I did want to write about the one moment I remember most which has nothing to do with any aesthetic. I adored the toasts. Each and every person (dads, moh, and best men) all echoed the exact same sentiments: Elliott and Stephanie are generous, kind, give-the-shirt-off-their-back people. Stories of encouragement and lots of grilling (on Elliott’s part, haha) surfaced and it was just the sweetest moment. I love it when friends are able to echo the same message like that. It’s a true show of their character and how great they are together as a couple! <3
Ok, I’ll stop being mushy now and just let you look at the photos. This is another long one and I love so many of these images!
