When Matt and I were engaged, we lived on opposite ends of Virginia. I was in Martinsville and Matt was in Williamsburg. Our weekends for those 6 months were spent traveling one way or the other so we could spend time together. While we were in Williamsburg, we spent our time figuring out what life in the Hampton Roads area for us would look like since Matt had gotten a job with Newport News Shipbuilding.
His job lead to an invitation from a high school and college friend to attend a “Newly weds and nearly weds” small group. The first time Matt and I went, we met Josh and Ann. We immediately had something in common: Carrollton! Josh and Ann had just moved to Virginia and were renting in the same apartments Matt and I were considering! They graciously offered to let us come over and view the apartment so we’d have an idea of what they looked like.
The following Saturday afternoon, we met Josh and Ann in Carrollton. We visited their adorable apartment and met their super adorable pup, Rosie! We ended up getting lunch together and chatting away for some time.
Since meeting them and getting to know them more personally, Josh and Ann have been a huge blessing to Matt and I. They have helped us move heavy furniture on several occasions and they even keep a spare key to our house! They have been so sweet and helpful to us. We are incredibly blessed to call them friends.
Now, we carpool to small group each week and are lovingly referred to as the “Carrollton Crew!”
When Ann asked if I would take some Christmas card pictures for them, I was so excited! Not only do I get to be behind the camera, but I get to take photos of two very photogenic friends and one really cute dog!
Enjoy a ton of favorites from their session at the beautiful Windsor Castle Park. We had so much fun walking around, drinking hot cocoa, and playing with Rosie. It was a very enjoyable afternoon!
I LOVE this photo!
The leaves were so pretty! I love Virginia falls.
I love this series of photos. Matt, my wonderful husband and assistant, threw leaves at Josh and Ann, but a huge leaf landed on Josh’s face! It was hilarious and made for some good laughs.
We tried again and got this. Rosie was so excited!
We took some photos specifically for their Christmas card. I’m only posting a few so I won’t ruin the surprise!
As the sun was setting, we spent a lot of time in this field. Love it! And so did about 5 other photographers who were there taking pictures too!
These two are new all-time favorites!
Rosie looks so cozy! So adorable!
Ann had the idea of incorporating hot cocoa into their session. Such a cute idea! I love this next series of pictures.
Then we had to include Rosie!
Two more favorites!
Thanks Josh and Ann for all that you do and have done for us! We are so thankful to have you as friends!
