In May, I had the wonderful opportunity to second shoot with Karen again. This time the wedding was just an hour up 64 at the beautiful Apple Blossom Plantation! I haven’t ever spent time in the New Kent area before, but as I drove through the beautiful countryside I saw lovely fields and forests. That’s the way to this southern girl’s heart!
Apple Blossom Plantation was beautiful! It’s only 40 years old, but the owner told us that the Plantation was modeled inch by inch (wall paper and all!) after a historic neighboring plantation in Richmond. How cool!?
Other than a beautiful venue, Adam and Sara had a perfect day for their outdoor wedding! I don’t know what it is about the Saturdays this spring in Virginia, but they have not disappointed! 70 and sunny!
It was a beautiful day and I’m so thankful to Karen for trusting me to second shoot with her! Don’t miss Karen’s blog post of Adam and Sara’s wedding too!
I think the “getting ready” portion of the day is one of my favorite parts of a wedding: the anticipation, the joy, the pretty things! Ah, just so lovely!
Loving the tulips!
Sarah looked so beautiful!
Adam had a “woman of honor” which was so unique!
First look time! This one was SO moving. I was literally crying behind the camera because of Adam’s reaction. SO SWEET!
Portrait time! Portraits were important to Adam and Sara, so they scheduled 3 different times for portraits. Can I get a “Woohoo!!” LOVE having tons of time for portraits!
Karen being awesome!!
The light on this porch was gorgeous!
Ladies and gentlemen, a new favorite all-time portrait! Love the light and trees!
If you can’t tell, I’m a big fan of the rule of thirds.
Look at the plantation! So pretty!
And then went back to the porch for a few more photos before hiding the bride away!
I may be a little biased, but I love the gray and yellow!
The bridal party was really funny. Loving the kissing of the bald head! Haha!
Portraits round 2!
Such a beautiful bridal portrait! Ah! Sara, you were gorgeous!!
Loved this detail on Sara’s bouquet.
Reception time. Again, still loving the gray and yellow!!
Portraits round 3!! Again some of my absolute favorites!
Then the party really got started!
Adam and Sara, thank you so much for letting me capture these beautiful moments from your day.
Karen, I can never thank you enough for everything you’ve done for me and the friendship we’ve developed! Thank you for letting me second shoot with you!!
Next week a really special wedding is coming to the blog. Brian & Abbi’s amazing Blacksburg wedding will be making you swoon! You definitely don’t want to miss that!!
