Today, I want to take you on a little tour of our condo Christmas decorations!
Last Christmas, we didn’t get to decorate very much. We had just gotten married and spent the majority of December unpacking and purchasing things we needed. We did get our first Christmas tree, which was my first live tree, ever! But that was all we did in the Holiday decor department.
This year, I wanted to do a little bit more because I just adore Christmas and the festive nativity scenes, snowflakes, candy canes, lights, and garland! It all is just a constant reminder to me of why we celebrate Christmas: the birth of Christ.
Because this is our first year decorating, we’ve had to start from scratch! I’m not as talented in the decorating area as some of my fellow photographer friends, so it was actually a little difficult coming up with just a few ideas. But I think the end results look really fun and festive. It’s just in time for our Sunday School Christmas Party on Friday!
My main source of inspiration was, of course, Pinterest. I saw this idea and wanted to do something simliar: Garland, ribbon, and berries wrapped around our dining room light.
We have two bookshelves in our dining room (which will eventually be white!) that are a great way to showcase Christmas decor!
My grandmother gave me the nativity scene on the left top shelf when I was around 2 years old. My mom said I would carry all the pieces around with me, which is why the little lamb is missing. Opps. Good thing baby Jesus is still there! Haha.
The nutcrackers on the left are Matt’s! He got the one in the middle from Germany! So it’s a truly authentic nutcracker, which is really cool!
I made this little centerpiece for our table. It’s not much, but I like it paired with our new snowflake table runner!
And of course, we have our Christmas tree! We don’t have that many ornaments, but I know we will accumulate them over the years.
Here are a few of my favorite ornaments:
This one is pretty self-explanatory. 🙂 Matt’s parents got us this adorable Just Married ornament for us last year.
I’m not sure why this tradition started. Maybe it’s because we got married in late November, but we picked up a Christmas ornament on our honeymoon as a souvenir from our trip to Lake Tahoe. We enjoyed that ornament so much, that we want to get an ornament from each place we visit for our anniversary! This year we picked up this lighthouse from Rehoboth Beach. It’s very fitting!
We’ve also picked up a few more ornaments throughout the year. I love this glittery snowflake that we also got from Delaware.
The ladies at our church have an ornament exchange each year, and this is the ornament I got. I love that it has a map of the world on it!
And of course, we have some ornaments from our childhood. The Little Mermaid and Charizard. How appropriate. Haha.
Last but not least is our gate!
I hope you enjoyed the tour of our little condo. It’s a lot of fun sharing it with you! Merry Christmas!
