Most of the time I do engagement photos, my couples have ideas of where they’d like the session to be and maybe a few ideas for what they’d like to incorporate like props or poses. But every now and then, I get a couple who truly has a unique and beautiful vision for their photos. Justin and Jessica love the look of vintage military and really wanted to use that inspiration for their engagement session. We met in Rocky Mount at the Old Train Depot where they have an old caboose for tourists to explore and some disconnected, dead tracks. . And boy oh boy did the combo of location and Justin & Jessica look SO pretty!
I’ve known Jessica since middle school, maybe before. But my most vivid memories of her are from band. We were both clarinet players and spent much of our time together on the marching band field and in the band room. In high school, we sat next to each other in concert band and had a great time. We’d write country song lyrics on all our music when Mr. Harris would inevitably spend half the class helping the trumpets. 😉 Haha. But those are such fond and sweet memories!
Jessica is one of the kindest people I know. Her presence just radiates sweetness and I have always loved being around her. Now, she’s found her groom, a man who treats her like the sweet, southern belle she is. And I love it! I loved spending time with these two, even if the wind was crazy and made for a chilly evening. Jessica totally rocked it in her blue dress and Justin was a trooper too changing in and out of his uniform a few times for me. 🙂
Thank you both for spending your afternoon with Matt and me! We had a great time and I can’t wait until your wedding next June!
