Back in the spring, I met Kim at her grandmother’s home on Smith Mountain Lake for some bridal portraits. This location held a special place in Kim’s heart because it’s where she spent many summers growing up. She and her mom told stories of jumping off docks and boat rides. It’s even where Kim learned to swim all those many years ago! Combining the sweet memories and gorgeous lake views made this the perfect spot for her bridals.
Kim has this understated elegance about her in the way she speaks, acts, dresses, everything. It’s so classic. So when I saw Kim’s wedding gown and unique accessories, I swooned! Kim’s gown was found at a consignment shop and then altered to fit Kim. Her mother made her unique veil and all her jewelry was vintage! So, so beautiful!!
It was an overcast day and had rained for days prior to our scheduled session. We were worried the ground would be too wet or worse that it would be raining! But the rain held off and a plastic white table cloth strategically placed under her dress kept all the mud and water away! Yay! And as I photographed Kim, I couldn’t help but notice her lines… it’s funny what you notice about people when you are photographing them, but Kim makes the most wonderful lines when she poses. Ah. I have no idea how to explain it, but it makes me gush behind the camera and give weird compliments! Hahaha.
Enjoy a few of my favorite bridal portraits! Kim, you were an absolutely stunning bride! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to photograph you in your wedding dress!
