Today’s post is really special to me because today is my husband’s 25th birthday.
I know most wives say this about their husbands, but I believe this with my whole heart: he is the greatest. Sometimes he snores or leaves glasses in the sink, but when it comes to taking care of me, loving me, leading me, he nails it. I could not imagine life being anything except being his wife. I love it.
We’ve celebrated 7 birthdays together either as boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife. It’s amazing to think back to all those years: all the experiences we’ve had, places we’ve been. What I love about meeting Matt and marrying young is getting to experience so many first with him. First homes, first 401Ks, first car purchases, and all those fun adult things. I love learning to do adult life with him.
We don’t typically make a big deal out of birthdays in our house. We don’t exchange gifts or throw parties, but we celebrate with a special meal (including dessert!) and lots of together time. I think we would both rather just have an evening relaxing and cuddling on the couch watching geeky Minecraft Youtube videos than do nearly anything else. And so that’s what we do and we love it.
Matt, I love you so much and am so thankful to have you not only in my life, but to have you as my husband. You challenge me, encourage me, and are a huge factor in who I am today. I could never thank you enough for everything you’ve done for me and I could never love you enough for that either. You’re my best friend and I hope to celebrate another 25, 50, 75 birthdays together!
And in honor of Matt’s birthday and #throwbackthursday I had to take this opportunity to share some old photos. It’s been an amazing adventure and I can’t wait to see where the Lord takes us.
