It was the perfect day: sunny, blue skies, a gentle breeze, and lots of family and friends. What an honor it was not only to celebrate with John & Michele as the photographer, but as Michele’s matron of honor.
Michele and I were roommates my senior year of college. We became such close friends that year and I’m incredibly thankful for our friendship! I loved being a part of her wedding day and getting to see her marry her best friend!
Being the photographer and matron of honor was quite the task! But it was one I would do over and over again if it meant getting to not only be there and stand by her on her wedding day, but to also capture beautiful, genuine, once-in-a-lifetime images of her and her love. Ah! What a wonderful honor!!
This wedding wouldn’t have been possible without the huge help from Dani, my second/first shooter, and Matt who was the second during the ceremony.
Please enjoy lots of my favorites (and commentary) from their gorgeous day!
Our gift from Michele were these cute robs! Love them!
LOVE this! A bride touching her dress right before she’s getting ready to put it on!
I love this shot that Dani caught of Michele walking down the stairs!! My hands were full and I was totally in “matron of honor” mode, so I’m so thankful she was there to capture moments like that.
First look time!
This lighthouse! The sky was literally perfect! Fantastic!
Dani did such an awesome job with the bridal party! I’m loving this porch.
Then we headed to the beach! The flower girl was adorable.
One of my absolute favorites from the day!
I adore the picture on the right of Michele holding her gown as she’s walking down the dunes.
At some point during these couples portraits, I decided to just embrace the full sun. There was no way were were going to find shade on the beach, and you know what? I think these turned out awesome.
I think I love this more in black and white.
Something about black and white on the beach. So classic and lovely.
Then it was ceremony time. Michele and her dad hid in the dunes until it was time to walk down the aisle. It was beautiful watching her emerge from the sandy hills.
Look at how artsy my husband gets. Love this shot of John and Michele walking away.
These next two tug at my heart. Look at the flower girl watching them kiss as they wait for the rest of the bridal party to walk down the isle. And then the groomsmen and myself letting John and Michele have a moment before congratulating them on their new marriage.
We were all very ready to hit the AC and water at Pamlico Jacks.
Loved all the nautical decor.
Their guest book was a surf board that the groom made himself! How cool!!
This cake was awesome! And, of course, I’m partial to the VT cupcake groomscake!
One of my favorite parts of every wedding: dinner! The mash potatoes were seriously some of the best I’ve ever had. I’d go back in a heart beat.
After dinner, we venture out to the sound for some sunset portraits. I love their photos on the beach, but these are some of my favorites from their wedding day.
The hands! Ah. Is it weird that I’m in love with this one? Haha.
Michele. Girl. AH. You were a stunning bride.
Umm Dani, that picture on the right, awesome!
And this one is definitely another favorite from the day! So much joy!
I was so nervous before my toast, but Dani did an awesome job capturing all the laughter and fun expressions.
John and Michele left no mercy when feeding each other cake. Haha. Hilarious!
Then the sun went down and it was time for the party to get started!
John and Michele, thank you so much for letting me be such a crucial part of your wedding day! I hope that you had an awesome time driving across the country and are having an awesome time exploring Phoenix!
And again, thanks Dani for all your help! I couldn’t have done this without you.
And another large thank you to Matt for being so attentive and flexible all weekend. Love you, dear!
