About the Lifestyle Blog

My day job is a wedding photographer, but my life consists of so much more than weddings. Here on my lifestyle blog, you’ll learn a lot more about me personally away from the camera. I love Jesus, being a wife, crafting, cooking, growing things, and so much more. I’ll document my heart here and I’m glad you’re along for the ride.

First Anniversary Trip

A few weekends ago, Matt and I spent a weekend away in Rehoboth Beach, DE to celebrate our first anniversary! It was a lot of fun. I like that we are making it a tradition to visit a new place each year around our anniversary.

Rehoboth was close enough for a weekend trip, but it was somewhere new neither of us had been. We drove across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge tunnel, which was really cool even if I expected it to be longer.

For our anniversary, we decided to stay at a Bed & Breakfast. It was our first B&B experience and we loved it! The

Lighthouse Inn

was in such a convenient location just a block from the beach and boardwalk with great hosts who made delicious breakfasts! They also put an anniversary banner in our room. It was really cute!

I was surprised at how different the beach was in Delaware. How fun it would be in the summer!

I also decided to start new tradition: take a picture of our rings every year. Won’t it be cool to have all the ring shots next to each other in 10 years?

On our first day in Rehoboth, we decided to check out

Cape Henlopen State Park

. The park is known for it’s World War II history. Throughout the park there are multiple observation towers  that were used to spot German U-boats in the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay. I thought it was really cool because I never thought about actual WWII combat happening in the States. We were even able to climb the tower!

The state park was so beautiful! These views of the Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean were gorgeous! I just wish it hadn’t been quite so overcast, but the light was great. Haha.

People were able to ride horses on the beach! So cool!

We spent some time walking around downtown Rehoboth. It was a really cute town. I loved all the side alleys and Christmas decorations.

We also went to Gordon’s Pond for a short hike. Have I mentioned how pretty it was? God’s creations are amazing!

Look at the crane!

While Matt and I were driving around Rehoboth, I saw this super pretty park with beautiful colorful leaves still on the trees! The trees are still brillant, even in November!

We also went to the Nassau Valley Vineyard. It was also really fun!

While I was taking pictures, Matt got tired. Haha.

As we were leaving, we crossed this really cool bridge with a beautiful blue sky. How cool is that?

I hope you enjoyed the pictures of our trip. We had a wonderful time! I love getting away!
