Another weekend down and only 3 more left in 2014! Crazy!
From left to right.
1. We finally got our Christmas tree! This was quite the ordeal, but I’m thankful for a husband who knows what he’s doing in the live Christmas tree department. Haha. Tonight is officially tree decorating night in the Johnson house. I’m so excited!
2. Saturday night we went to a Christmas concert put on by the Training and Doctrine Command Army band. We went with one of Matt’s coworkers and his wife. It was a lot of fun to have a double date night. We had dinner at the Broken Egg, which is always delicious and then went to the concert at Regent University. The music was just lovely and made me miss my time in band.
3. Matt and I are playing the hand chimes in our church’s Christmas service. It’s been fun making music again!
But the biggest news from the weekend is that this arrived in the mail:
I am so excited to announce the newest addition to the KJP family, the Nikon d750! This camera has received RAVING reviews since it’s release a few months ago and I am so excited to make it my new main camera.
After just using it a little bit over the weekend, I’m smitten with the lighter weight, quieter shutter, and the images look stunning. The unfortunate part about this camera for right now is that the file sizes are double the size of my d700. That is actually a good thing. It’s something I wanted in a new camera. But apparently, my 2008 laptop can’t handle that size of images! So I’ve had to be very patient with Lightroom and my computer. Thankfully, we’ll have our new work station up and working by the next time I need it!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are enjoying this joyous Christmas season!
